From an early age Marylyn has had a passion for art and dreamed of being an artist. In fulfillment of that dream she studied art at the Traphagen School of Fashion Illustration and Design, in New York City. Although she loved Fashion Illustration, in her heart, shereally wanted to be a painter.

She was introduced to watercolor painting by the late artist Don Selchow. He quickly took Marylyn under his wing and with his guidance she was hooked on this wonderful medium.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Eric and together they raised their two son’s, Joshua and Adam in Monroe, NY. Early on the family began to visit Rockport, Mass. And Kennebunkport, Maine. The quaintness of these New England coastal towns spoke to her creative spirit and inspired her love of painting.

After many years of working almost exclusively in watercolor, a strange thing happen….Marylyn took an oil painting class . To her surprise she liked it. Somehow it seemed to make watercolor, and for that matter, painting in general, clearer to express. So 2008 became a year of studying and exploring the art of oil painting.

She is a member of “The Group of Nine”, a band of merry painter friends and kindred spirits who together, scout out and paint the beautiful landscape of the Hudson River Valley .

She is 2nd Vice President of “Artists in the Park”, painting the parklands of NY state
An award winning artist, she is represented by “The Wallkill River School and Gallery“, in Montgomery, NY. Her work is included in many private and corporate collections.
Marylyn spends as much time as possible living her passion, painting in her studio, or“En Plein Air”.
